Important Information About Your 2026-27 ATPE Membership

ATPE State President Jerrica Holt shares an update as membership opens April 1, including a small, targeted dues increase effective Aug. 1 and what it means for 2026–27 members.

Dear ATPE members,

ATPE is opening membership for the 2026–27 membership year on April 1, which means nonmembers will be able to begin submitting applications for the next school year. If you are currently an ATPE member, you have no action to take at this time, but we do want to share an important update about your 2026–27 membership.

The ATPE Board of Directors—comprising five elected state officers and 20 elected region directors, all educator members—is responsible for setting ATPE’s annual membership dues rates. In February, the Board made the difficult decision to implement a small dues increase effective Aug. 1, 2026. As you’ll see below, rather than implementing an across-the-board increase, the Board has opted to implement targeted increases mindful of salary levels, demand, and overall dues amounts.

ATPE’s 2026-27 Membership Dues Rates

CategoryAnnual Dues Rates Effective Aug. 1, 2026Change from 2025-26
Professional$264 $22
Associate$108 $9
Administrator$390 $60
Retiree$36 $3
Public Education Supporter$66 $11

ATPE will continue to offer a first-time professional member discount ($114 annual dues) through Oct. 31, 2026, as well as free memberships for college students, clinical teachers, and paid residents.

We recognize that any price increase is challenging in the current climate. The Board examined the situation thoroughly, as well as reviewed the many cost-cutting measures ATPE has taken along with our efforts to maintain a premier level of member benefits, including the Educators Professional Liability Insurance Policy.* Our mission is to advocate for educators and deliver affordable, high-quality products and services that give members the peace of mind needed to inspire student success, and the Board’s action to implement a small dues increase now will position us to continue delivering on that mission.

The value of ATPE membership remains unmatched, with the opportunity to enjoy hundreds of dollars of value through our member discount programs, hundreds of hours of on-demand continuing professional education (CPE) courses, and our new online community, as well as the professional advocacy provided by the ATPE Lobby Team, which secured significant pay raises for many educators during the 2025 legislative session. In the past year, we’ve also introduced the ATPE Mobile App and Judy, ATPE’s AI Assistant. And, of course, members in insured categories* are well aware the annual cost of ATPE membership is less than the cost of speaking to an attorney on your own for even one hour. (Check out this new flyer for a breakdown on the value of ATPE membership.)

Thank you for your ATPE membership, and I look forward to continuing our membership together in 2026–27.

Sincerely,
Jerrica Holt
ATPE State President
