Shine a Light on Texas Educators: H-E-B Awards Now Open

One of Texas’ biggest celebrations of public school educators is back. The 2026 H-E-B Excellence in Education Awards program is now accepting applications from outstanding teachers, administrators, and schools across the state.

Since 2002, H-E-B has awarded more than $14 million in cash prizes and grants through the program. Educators and institutions are recognized in the following categories:

• Teacher
• Principal
• School Counselor
• School District
• School Board
• Early Childhood Center

Teachers are honored in three career stages: Rising Star (less than 10 years of experience), Leadership (10 to 20 years), and Lifetime Achievement (more than 20 years). Finalists and winners receive personal cash awards and grants for their schools or districts. The selection process includes regional judging, interviews, and site visits.
